Tommaso Ghidini
Head of the Structures, Mechanisms and Materials Division of the European Space Agency

Tommaso Ghidini, a mechanical engineer who graduated from Parma in 2000, holds a PhD in Experimental and Numerical Fracture Mechanics from the University of Paderborn in Germany, completed entirely at the Materials Research Institute of the German Aerospace Centre in Cologne.

He collaborates with the Department of Mechanics at the Politecnico di Milano, where he taught the first European course on 3D printing of components for space, aimed at mechanical and aerospace engineering students. He is currently head of the Structures, Mechanisms and Materials Division of the European Space Agency.
